Dr. Madaka Tumbo

Dr. Madaka Tumbo is an Associate Director and Lecturer at the Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA), University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM. She holds a Ph.D. in Hydrology focusing on Uncertainties in Modelling Hydrological Responses in Gauged and Ungauged Sub‐Basins. Madaka has more than ten years of experience in consulting and research in hydrological modeling, water resources assessments and management, climate change impact assessment and adaptation.

For the past five years, she has been coordinating the African Climate Change Fellowship Program (ACCFP). The SIDA funded project that she is currently implementing looks at Linking Public-Private Partnership to Secure Sustainable Water Resources Management in the Kilombero-River Basin (2015-2020). She also part of the Future Climate for Africa -UMFULA project which is also a multidisciplinary research project funded by DFID (2016-2019). Dr Tumbo is also leading the Future Earth’s Early Career’s Scientists Group
