Prof. Timothy Waema

Team Leader, University of Nairobi

Timothy Mwololo Waema is a Full Professor of Information Systems in the School of Computing and Informatics in the University of Nairobi. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Strategic Management of Information Systems from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a Bachelors Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Bath (UK).

Prof. Waema has extensive ICT for development research experience. He has led several research awards programs, including Research Grants in ICT for Development Tenable in Universities in Eastern and Southern Africa; Research Grants on Innovative Application of ICTs in Addressing Water-related Impacts of Climate Change; and African Climate Change Leadership Program. Prof. Waema has published widely in journals, conference proceedings and in books. He also has extensive ICT consultancy experience that spans over 30 years in both private and public sector organizations in Kenya and the African region in many aspects of ICTs and development.

Prof. Waema sits on editorial boards of several peer reviewed journals and is a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He also sits in boards of several public and private sector organizations.
